To open Project Manager, click the Projects button on the toolbar. A project is simply an informal collection of databases. You can create new projects when you want to work with a more focused subset of databases.
The active project represents the collection of databases you are working with at any given time. When you create a new database or open an existing database it is added to the active project automatically so that you can easily access the database again in the future. Project Manager lets you edit the list of databases that belong to the active project.
The first time you run Zoot the program automatically creates a default project for you called Startup, along with a project database called Startup.zot. This will be the active project each time you start Zoot unless you create a new project or open a different project. The project database Startup.zot will always be the first database to open unless you select a different project database.
Projects take on more importance as you begin to create new databases and the total number of databases you work with increases. If you have created many databases, projects let you divide them into smaller groups, thereby limiting the number of databases currently "in focus" at any given time.
