The Default View

The default view is the view you see initially when you create a new folder. Every database has one default view. You can modify the default view so that new folders you create initially display with the column, sorting, display and filter properties most often used. This will save you from having to customize the Item Grid each time you create a new folder.


To customize the default view, follow these steps:

1. Click the Smart button and choose View | Default View from the pop-up menu to activate the Default View.

2. Customize the Item Grid the way you want it. Any changes you make are saved automatically.

To make an existing view the default view, follow these steps:

1. Click the Smart button and choose View | <View Name> from the pop-up menu (where <View Name> is the view you want to make the default view).

2. On the toolbar click the Smart button and choose Display from the pop-up menu. Zoot opens the Display Properties Dialog. Check the Make this view the default view check box.
