Split an Item Into a Series of Items

You can split a single long item into a series of items. To do so you must delimit the long item so that Zoot knows how to split it up. A delimiter is a unique string of characters used to mark the end of one item and the beginning of the next.


To split a single item into a series of items, follow these steps:

1. Scroll through the item and place delimiters so that Zoot knows how to split the item.

2. Press Ctrl+A to select all text, then Ctrl+C to copy the text to the Windows Clipboard.

3. Right-click on the Item Grid and choose Paste | Text Extracts from the pop-up menu.

4. Zoot asks you to enter a delimiter. Click the Clear button to clear out any existing delimiter information, then enter your delimiter in the Text Delimiter box.

Click OK and Zoot creates a series of items.

You can use "white space" as a delimiter. When Zoot asks you to specify a delimiter, just press the Enter key once for each line of white space.
