In addition to actions which modify item properties, Zoot provides a number of actions which manipulate items in other ways. These special actions are described below.
Copy or Move an Item to Another Database
This action will copy or move items that have been assigned to the folder to another database.
Assign an Item to One or More Folders
This action will assign an item to one or more folders whenever the item is assigned to the action folder.
Clear Folder Assignments
This action will remove an item from one or more folders you specify.
Clear All Folder Assignments
This action will clear an item from all folders and leave the item assigned to only the action folder.
Delete Items
This action will delete any items assigned to the action folder.
Synchronize Zoot Databases
This action will synchronize two Zoot databases over a network.
Synchronize with Microsoft Outlook
This action lets you synchronize a Zoot database with one or more Outlook folders.
Synchronize Zoot Folders
This action will synchronize the contents of two folders in two different Zoot databases. The items in these folders will be linked together by shortcuts.
Synchronize with a File Folder
This action will synchronize the contents of a file folder on your disk drive with a Zoot folder. Each file on disk will be represented by a File Link in the Zoot folder. You can add notes to these File Links (meta-data) by typing directly in the Item Editor. You can also specify that Zoot import the first 32K of text from the files on disk. In this case, Zoot marks the items <Read-Only>. If the files change, the contents of the Zoot item will update the next time you run the folder action, unless you've modified (turned off) the <Read-Only> property. If you turn off the <Read-Only> property, you will be able add notes to the File Links in the Item Editor. You can read more about File Links here.
Import Files
This action will import any files found in the file folder(s) specified.
