Searching with Google
Top  Previous  Next

Click Query | Google from the main menu and Zoot will navigate to the Google Advanced Search page. If you highlight text in the Item Editor first, Zoot will use that text to formulate and execute the Google search.

Zoot passes the highlighted text to Google as it appears in the Item Editor, so be aware that Google assumes an AND operator search unless the search string contains an OR operator or is enclosed in quotes (exact match search). If you want Zoot to enclose your search string in quotes, hold down the Ctrl key when you click on the Google menu item. If you want to set this as the default search mode, see Tools | Options.

Notes:

·Use Alt+G or Ctrl+Alt+G to launch Google using the keyboard.
·When working in a detached Folder Window or Item Editor Window, there is no Query menu, so use Alt+G or Ctrl+Alt+G to execute a Google search instead.
·Holding down the Ctrl key temporarily reverses your default search mode (AND operator vs. Exact Match).
