Recurring Items
Top  Previous  Next

You can make any item a recurring item, but typically recurrence relates to Task and Appointment items. Suppose you have a task you must complete every Wednesday at 3:00pm. You could create a new Task item each week to remind yourself, but you'll save a lot of time if you just create a single recurring Task item. To create a recurring item, you simply establish a recurrence pattern (every Wednesday at 3:00pm, for instance).

To create a recurring item, follow these steps:

1. Create a new item or locate an existing item you want to recur. On the Edit Toolbar located just above the Item Editor, click the Set Recurrence button. Zoot opens the Recurrence Dialog.

2. Enter a Start and End time if necessary.

3. Select a Recurrence Pattern using the lists and menus provided.

4. Enter a Start and End date for the recurrence pattern. This selection determines the length of time the recurrence pattern remains in effect. For instance, your recurrence pattern might correspond to the beginning and end of a school semester.

Click the OK button to finish. When you mark your recurring item complete or deleted it, Zoot will create a new item based on the recurrence pattern you've set up.

Notes:

·To view all recurring items in a database, choose Query | Quick Folder | Recurring Items from Zoot's main menu.

·To end recurrence for an item, open the Recurrence Dialog and click the End Recurrence button located at the bottom.
