Preparing to Synchronization for the First Time
Top  Previous  Next

Before proceeding with synchronization, check the following:

·Make sure the system clock time on each computer is reasonably close (within a couple of minutes).

·Make sure the databases to be synchronized reside in the same relative location on both computers. For example, suppose you want to synchronize a database called Clients.zot between two computers (Computer A and Computer B). The database Clients.zot should reside in the same project folder on each computer.

The database file paths might look something like this:

Computer A:
C:\Users\John Smith\Documents\Zoot Files\Database\Projects\Work\Clients.zot

Computer B:
D:\MyData\Zoot Files\Database\Projects\Work\Clients.zot

Note that the file paths do not need to be identical, but the databases must reside in the same relative project folder. The example above works because in each case the database to be synchronized resides in the same project folder (...Database\Projects\Work).

Notes:

·There is no need to worry about the location of the Desktop Databases (Tasks, Contacts, Calendar, etc.) because these databases always reside in the special Desktop folder, which cannot be changed by the user.
