How to Restore a Database from Backup
Top  Previous  Next

Locating Backups
Zoot makes backup copies automatically and these backup files reside in the same file folder as the database file (.ZOT) itself. Backup databases will look something like this:

DATABASE.001
DATABASE.002
DATABASE.BK1
DATABASE.BK2
DATABASE.BKS
DATABASE.BKZ

All of the file extensions above (.001, .BK1, .BKZ etc.) represent valid backup databases.

Restore a Backup Database

1. Click the Databases button on Zoot's toolbar to open Database Manager.

2. Locate the most recent backup database file (by file date), then right-click on it and choose "Restore Backup Database" from the pop-up menu.

Zoot renames the problem database (with a .BAD file extension) and restores the backup database. If the problem persists, repeat the process above using the next most recent backup database file.

Notes:

· In order to restore a backup database, the problem database cannot be open in Zoot.
