How to Process RSS feeds in Zoot
Top  Previous  Next

A Zoot database is the ideal place to process incoming RSS feeds. The easiest way to process RSS feeds in Zoot is to have the RSS feeds e-mailed to your Microsoft Outlook Inbox. You can then synchronize Outlook and Zoot to bring the feeds over to your Zoot database.

A number of RSS to E-mail converters are available on the Internet. You might start your search with NewsGator (www.newsgator.com), as this software package has been tested with Outlook and Zoot and it works well.

Once you are receiving RSS feeds in Outlook:

1. Create a folder in Outlook to store incoming feeds. Create an Outlook rule to move incoming feeds from your Inbox to this dedicated folder so that you don't have to move them manually. This step helps keep your Inbox clean and lets you deal with your RSS feeds at your convenience.

2. Create a Zoot database dedicated to your RSS feeds.

3. Synchronize the Outlook RSS folder with your Zoot RSS database.
