How to Create a Task While Working in Another Application
Top  Previous  Next

You do not have to be working in the Tasks database in order to create a Task Item. You can use the Zooter | New command while working in another Zoot Database or while working in another application.

To create a Task while working in another application:

1. Click the Zooter icon and choose New | Task from the pop-up menu. Zoot creates a new item and opens it in a detached Item Editor window. If you have selected any text in the active document, Zoot includes the text in the new item.

2. Zoot enters in-place editing mode. Type in a subject for the new Task, then press the Tab key to move from column to column, filling in fields as you go. When you're finished press the Enter key.

Zoot places the input focus in the Item Editor so that you can begin typing in the document area. When you're finished with the Task item, click the Save and Close button (or press the Esc key) and Zoot will save the item and close the detached Item Editor window.

Tip: To create a reminder for the Task item, click the Reminder button located just above the Item Editor (right side), or press Ctrl+E.
