Zoot features a number of ways to alter the Item Grid display. Note that when you change the display settings for the Item Grid, the settings are saved with the active view and will apply to any folders that use that view.
Hide Columns - If a view includes too many columns, you may find it useful to temporarily simplify the view by hiding all but the Subject column. Right-click the Column Headings Bar and choose Hide Columns from the pop-up menu. Zoot hides all but the Subject column and places a check next to the Hide Columns menu item. To restore the original settings, uncheck the Hide Columns menu item.
Auto-size Columns - By default, Zoot automatically sizes the width of the columns in a view so that they are all visible. If you want the columns to maintain a fixed width, disable the Auto-size Columns feature. Right-click the Column Headings Bar and uncheck the Auto-Size Columns menu item. Zoot adds a horizontal scrollbar to the Item Grid so that if the columns are not all visible at once, you can scroll the hidden columns into view.
Remove Column - You can quickly remove a column from a view. Right-click on the column you wish to remove and choose Remove Column from the pop-up menu.
Show Grid Lines - Zoot can add grid lines to a view to make the grid cells easier to distinguish. Click the Smart button and choose Display from the pop-up menu. Zoot opens the Display Properties Dialog. Check the Show Grid Lines check box.
Wrap Text - Zoot can wrap text in grid cells so that long text entries are entirely visible within each cell. Click the Smart button and choose Display from the pop-up menu. Zoot opens the Display Properties Dialog. Check the Wrap Text in Cells check box.
