Create Off-site Backups
Top  Previous  Next

Zoot can automate the creation of off-site backup of databases. This is a quick way to zip up a group of databases and transfer the compressed file to a CD-RW drive or some other detached media.

To create an off-site backup, follow these steps:

1. From the main menu, choose File | Backup | Create Off-site Backups.

2. Zoot displays a list of all databases. Databases with a checkmark next to them have been modified since the last off-site backup was created. Check off any other databases you want to backup, then click OK.

3. Zoot asks you to select the drive on which the backup is to be created. Select a drive and click OK.

Zoot compresses your databases and creates a .ZIP file and gives it a name in the following format:

ZBK-YYYY-MM-DD
