Copying Actions
Top  Previous  Next

You can copy a folder's actions so that you don't have to recreate them from scratch. You can copy actions within a given database or from one database to another. Note that if the folder possesses both rules and actions, both will be copied.

To copy a folder's actions within a given database, follow these steps:

1. Drag the folder using your RIGHT mouse button and drop it onto itself. Zoot displays a pop-up menu.

2. Choose Copy Here from the pop-up menu and Zoot creates a copy of the folder along with any rules/actions attached to the folder. You can now change the name of the folder, move it to a new location in the Folder Tree, and edit the folder rules/actions as necessary.

To copy a folder's rules from one database to another, follow these steps:

1. Right-click the folder and choose SendTo | Copy from the pop-up menu.

2. Select a target database. Zoot displays an Options Dialog asking if you want to transfer just the folder or both the folder and any items in the folder also. You also have the option here to transfer the view currently applied to the folder. Leave the default options if you just want to copy over the folder and its rules/actions.

Zoot copies the folder and its rules/actions to the target database. You'll find the folder beneath the New Arrivals system folder in the target database.
